When the ¼ inch jack is populated with a ¼ inch connector, the sensor shuts off. As a result, you will not get data while the jack is populated. The 9v battery powers both the sensor and the guitars electric pick-ups, because of this using the ¼ inch jack will drain the battery. This can lead to shorter battery life.
